Glass Blowing Class FAQ
When are Glass Blowing classes offered?
Classes are offered throughout the year on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays starting at 4 pm and on weekends depending on availability. We take a Summer break from mid-June till about early September, weather dependent.
How large are classes?
Classes are booked privately by individuals or groups.
What time are classes and how long do they last?
Class times vary depending on the type of class.
Do I need any previous glass experience?
Nope! Beginners and Advanced are all welcome. We work with each student individually, so no matter your level, we have you covered.
How are classes run?
The class starts out with a brief discussion of equipment, tools, and safety, and then students work one-on-one with an instructor to make their piece. Students may also be asked to assist other members of their group.
What can I make during a class?
Depending upon the class, you might make a cup, bowl, vase, paperweight, etc. We have a wide variety of colors for you to use, too!
What should I wear/bring to a class?
Students should dress in comfortable, natural fiber clothing (cotton, wool, jeans) and closed-toe shoes. Long sleeves are highly suggested, but can be something you take on and off like a flannel. Long hair should be tied back. Sunglasses/safety glasses may be worn. Bring along a water bottle, too; we have a water cooler.
Do I get to keep what I make?
What you make is yours to keep, however, glass pieces must remain in our annealing oven to slowly cool down to room temperature for 48 hours before they may be picked up. Remember, glass does break. In the unfortunate event that one of your pieces may crack, we will do our best to supply a replacement piece/experience.
Pieces can be shipped for an additional cost and can be arranged on the day of your class.
Are there any age restrictions?
All classes have limited age ranges that can be seen below and/or on our class page. Exceptions may be made for younger students, but they must obtain pre-authorization to join a class. We have several types of classes suited for the younger age range, though.
How much do classes cost?
Intro Class: 1 Blown Piece (cup, bowl, vase), $125/person, 45-minute experience, Ages 14 and up
Intro Class Plus: 1 Blown Piece (cup, bowl, or vase) & a Paperweight, $155/person, 1-hour experience, Ages 14 and up

Do you offer any shorter classes?

Do you offer any Seasonal Classes?
During September/October we hold Blow Your Own Pumpkin classes, which cost $80 a person and are booked in 30-minute time slots to make one pumpkin. These classes are available to students ages 8 and up.
In November/December/January we hold Blow Your Own Ornament classes, which cost $50 a person and are booked in 15-minute time slots to make one ornament. These classes are available to students ages 6 and up.
Keep an eye on our website/social media for other Blow Your Own (BYO) events during the rest of the year. We have been known to do items such as hearts, mugs, eggs, and many other fun events.
